Wonen met sterren deel 4: Charlize Theron’s strandhuis te huur

De Academy Award winnende actrice Charlize Theron en haar partner van jaren, Stuart Townsend zijn uit elkaar en Charlize probeert nu het huis waar ze ooit samen woonde te verhuren.

Het huis ligt op een prive-strand van La Costa in Malibu. Malibu is de hotspot voor een vakantieverblijf in sterrenland. De meeste celebs hebben naast hun gewone kasten van huizen ook nog een huis ergens aan het strand om de zomer door te brengen.

Oorspronkelijk het oudste huis op La Costa, maar inmiddels helemaal ingericht naar haar smaak en stijl. Charlize en Stuart kochten dit huis in januari 2003 voor 3.495 miljoen dollar van acteur Steven Weber.

Het huis heeft 3 slaapkamers (waarvan één met eigen ingang), 3.5 badkamer en een geweldig uitzicht over zee. Door de enorme raampartijen die aanwezig zijn in dit huis, wordt het buiten naar binnen gehaald en kun je optimaal genieten van de natuur om je heen.

De inrichting is erg leuk, eclectisch en ik denk helemaal geschikt voor deze plek. Het voelt aan als een huis waar echt iemand leeft en gebruik maakt van alle kamers. Het voelt niet aan als een huis dat werd gebouwd om in tijdschriften te staan, maar om in te leven. Een huis met elementen uit verschillende stijlen, maar die in dit huis geweldig bij elkaar komen.

Het huis is volledig gemeubileerd aangeboden inclusief een hot tub, openhaard, beveiligingscamera’s, drop-down-tv, high-tech geluidsinstallatie, enz.

Wat ook geweldig is, is de masterbedroom met de gecapitoneerde achterwand met daarom heen de boekenkast gepositioneerd.

Deze kamer beschikt ook over een badkamer ensuite, met zelfs vanuit het bad een geweldig uitzicht over de zee.

Zie jij jezelf hier al zitten, genietend met een wijntje op de veranda en vraagt u zich af wat het gaat kosten als u hier wilt wonen. Het kost 30.000 dollar per maand, wat niet ongewoon is voor een strandwoning in Malibu.



Living with stars part 4: Charlie Therons beach house for rent

The house is on a private beach of La Costa in Malibu. Malibu is the holiday hotspot for stars. Most celebs have besides their regular units of houses also a house somewhere on the beach where they can spend every summer.

Originally the oldest home on La Costa, but now designed perfect for her taste and style. Charlize and Stuart bought this house in January 2003 for 3.495 million dollar form actor Steven Weber.

The house has 3 bedrooms (one with a private entrance), 3.5 bathrooms and a great sea view. Because of the enormous windows that are present in this house, the outside brought inside and you can fully enjoy the nature around you.

The interior is very nice, eclectic and I think it’s totally suitable to this place. It feels that a real person lives here and uses all the rooms. It does not feel like a house was done to be on magazines, it’s done to be lived in. A house with elements from different styles, but these styles meets each other perfectly in this house.

The house is fully furnished included hot tub, fireplace, security cameras, drop-down TV, high-tech sound system, etc.

What’s great as well is the master bedroom. The back panel is padding installed and surrounded by a bookcase.

This room also has an en-suite bathroom, with even from the bath a great view over the sea.

Do you see yourself sitting here already, enjoying a glass of wine on the porch and you wonder what it will cost if you want to live here. It costs 30.000 dollar per month, which is not unusual for a beach home in Malibu.

De Hollywood Interieurs: Sex & the City - also fabulous inside

“ Sex & the City “ is een echt fenomeen in de modewereld. Maar de obsessie gaat verder. Ik was verrast door de vele artikelen die zijn te vinden over het interieur van Sex & the City. Ik denk dat we niet alleen hun kleding willen, maar ook hun interieurs. Het is echt heel verschillend hoe Carry woonde in de serie en hoe het veranderde in de film. Ik hoopte dat ik het afschuwelijke blauwe appartement van de eerste film niet hoefde te noemen.

We houden allemaal van het vintage appartement van Carry. Vol met boeken en tijdschriften, rommelig, maar op een of andere manier is het een georganiseerde chaos.

In de eerste film is het huis van Mr. Big gewoon geweldig. Het is het ultieme vrijgezelle appartement wat ik zou verwachten. De keuken is simpelweg fantastisch. De donkere houten keukenkasten gecombineerd met het roestvrijstalen keukenblad. Prachtig!

Miranda’s huis is ook zeer interessant. De combinatie van vintage met modern komt hier goed tot zijn recht.

In de tweede film veranderd alles.

“ Ik ben vreemdgegaan op mode met meubels,” grapt Carry Bradshaw  in het begin van de film : Sex & the City 2”.  Een opvolger van de knallende tv-show en de eerste filmversie van Sex & the City. In de filmt groeit Carry op, ze leert een appartement te delen mat haar nieuwe echtgenoot Mr. Big, en verbreedt haar passie voor alle “fashionable”  dingen in de wereld van interieurdesign.

“ Carry probeert een nieuw appartement voor hen tweeën te creëren, niet alleen voor haar”, zegt Jeremy Conway, de productie ontwerper van de tv-serie en beide films. Conway heeft samen met set decorateur Lydia Marks van Marks & Frantz, een ruimte gecreëerd dat mannelijke elementen bevat, zoals donkere houtsoorten en lineair ingericht zoals in de jaren “50 en “60 werd gedaan. Deze gecombineerd met vrouwelijke accesoires, zoals de grillige tapiijten en de botanische printen op de stoffen.

Maar de gestijlde ruimtes zijn niet gereserveerd voor het echtpaar. De film beschit over een mix van inspirerende interieurs, van de vertrouwde huizen van Charlotte (Kristin Davis) and Miranda (Cynthia Nixon) tot een gloed-nieuw Times Square kantoor voor Samantha (Kim Cattrall) en zelfs een luxe Marokaans-themahotel.

Als we een beter zicht krijgen in de woonkamer, kunnen we de salontafel eens goed bekijken. Ik heb nog nooit gezien dat iemand zijn boeken tentoonstelt boven op een koffie kopje, wat erg interressant is. Als je in kan zoomen, dan zie je dat boeken op zich zelf ook al erg interressant zijn. Er staat bijvoorbeeld: Walton Ford, Lewis Caroll, Tracey Chevelier, Sol Levitt, 100 Views, “The name of the Rose” van Umberto Eco, “ The Time Traveler’s Wife” van Audrey Niffenegger,”Poe & Fanny” van John May, “Voices of Time”, “A Life in Stories” van Eduardo Galeano, “All Yesterday’s Parties”, “The Velvet Underground” uit 1966-1971 en als laaste maar zeker niet de minste: “Lady Chatterley’s Lover” van D.H. Lawrence. Dit is een erg interressant assortiment van leesmateriaal and dit zijn enkel de titels die we eruit konden halen, er zullen vast nog meer interressante boeken hebben gestaan!

Sex & the City is true phenomenon in the world of fashion. But the obsession goes further. I was surprised how many articles you can find on the subject of the interior. I guess we do not only want the clothes but as well the interior. It is truly different how Carry (Sarah Jessica Parker) has lived in the series and how it changed in the movie. I wish not to mention the hideous blue apartment from the first movie.

We all love vintage apartment of Carry full of books & magazines, messy but somehow organized chaos.

In the first movie Mr. Big’s (Chris Noth) place is just great. It is an ultimate bachelor pad that I would expect. The kitchen is simply fantastic. The dark wooden cabinets combined with stainless steal top.

Miranda’s place is as well interesting. The combination of vintage with modern works very well.

In the second film all is changing.

“I’ve been cheating on fashion with furniture,” quips Carrie Bradshaw at the beginning of Sex and the City 2. A sequel to the smash TV show and its successful cinematic spin-off, the movie finds Carrie growing up, learning how to share a new apartment with new-husband Mr. Big, and extending her passion for all things fashionable to the world of interior design.

“Carrie is trying to make a new apartment for the two of them, not just for her,” says Jeremy Conway, the production designer for the TV series and both films. To that end, Conway, along with set decorator Lydia Marks of Marks & Frantz, created a space that blends masculine elements, such as linear midcentury furnishings and dark woods, with feminine accessories, including whimsical rugs and cheerful botanical-themed fabrics.

But the stylish settings aren’t reserved for the married couple. The movie features a mix of inspiring interiors, from the familiar spaces of Charlotte (Kristin Davis) and Miranda (Cynthia Nixon) to a brand-new Times Square office for Samantha (Kim Cattrall) and even a luxurious, Moroccan-themed hotel.

In this better shot of the living room, we get a good look at the coffee table. I've never seen anyone display books standing up on a coffee which is interesting. If you can zoom in, the books themselves are interesting too. They include Walton Ford; Lewis Carroll; Tracey Chevelier; Sol Levitt, 100 Views; The Name of the Rose by Umberto Eco; The Time Traveler's Wife by Audrey Niffenegger; Poe & Fanny by John May; Voices of Time: A Life in Stories by Eduardo Galeano; All Yesterday's Parties: The Velvet Underground in Print 1966-71; and last but not least, Lady Chatterley's Lover by D.H. Lawrence. Quite an interesting assortment of reading material and those were only the titles I could make out!
